How to Speed up Your Metabolism and Burn More Body Fat
Want to get rid of unsightly body fat simply by changing your diet? There are many fad diets out there that promise to burn away body fat and shed off all those extra pounds but the problem with diets is that they are too restrictive. Typically, most of the foods you love are absent from diets, making them difficult to adhere to. That’s why I design a nutritional lifestyle plan based on each client’s likes, dislikes, personal goals, and individual body assessment. After all, what’s the point of having a dieting plan if you aren’t going to follow it?
The nutritional lifestyle plan I design helps you speed up your metabolism and burn more body fat. It is called a lifestyle plan because it is a lifestyle, not a temporary measure. Diets come and go but a lifestyle change is long-term. You have to make a permanent adjustment to your habits in order to see a difference.
Tips for Speeding up Your Metabolism
Following a high-protein diet and eating every three hours will speed up your metabolism while enabling your body to maintain a lower level of body fat and a higher amount of muscle tissue. Habits like skipping breakfast, eating one to three large meals a day and eating before bed time all contribute to the accumulation of body fat and the breakdown of muscle tissue. To achieve a positive nitrogen balance in your body, which is the key to muscle growth, you can eat foods high in protein 30-60 minutes prior to bed time.
Teach Your Body to Minimize Body Fat and Maximize Muscle Mass
The human body has the amazing ability to store as much body fat as possible for times of famine. This survival mechanism came in handy eons ago when humans relied on hunting for survival in an unpredictable environment. The body does not need a lot of muscle to get around so it has uses protein instead of body fat for energy. Our ability to easily store body fat and not a lot of muscle is useful in harsh conditions but unfortunately, it doesn’t really give us the ideal physique.
In order to minimize body fat and maximize muscle mass, you have to teach your body to burn fat for energy while preserving muscle tissue. By eating the right amount of food every three hours, you send the message to your body that it doesn’t need to store body fat. Your body responds by speeding up its metabolism. In order to maintain a high rate of metabolism, you have to eat plenty of foods that contain low-fat protein and just enough carbohydrates.
Some people may be confused about what they can and can’t eat in order to minimize body fat and maximize muscle mass but a simple rule of thumb to follow is that you are what you eat. Fat feeds fat, lean protein feeds lean muscle, and so on. Your body needs a little bit of each type of food in order to function properly and stay healthy. However, there is no need to consume dietary fat because you can get plenty of it through protein sources and EFA supplements like primrose oil, flax oil, and omega-3 and 6 fatty acids.
The nutritional lifestyle plan I design for you includes everything you need and excludes everything you don’t. If you follow the plan closely, you will get the results you are looking for. If you don’t follow the plan, you will progress much more slowly or your progress will be halted altogether. In fact, 80% of the results you get from my program stem from the nutritional lifestyle plan.
Exercise only constitutes 20% of the results of my program. That means you cannot make up for your uncontrolled eating with exercise. For example, to burn just 500 calories, you have to complete an hour of cardiovascular exercise. If you eat just one slice of pizza or two donuts, you have already consumed 500 calories! I will customize a nutritional plan based on your likes, dislikes, and needs to ensure that you can adhere to it.
